Small Chanel haul

As winter approaches really quickly we all tend to change our wardrobe for thicker items and also usually for a bit darker colours. Similar applies to makeup. Autumn and winter season usually means a change into darker colours in makeup too. This year particularly there is a big twist into deep red, burgundy and warm brown in both eyes and lips products and that’s exactly what I was looking for in my latest Chanel purchases.

I have always been a big fan of Chanel makeup and I own a few pieces. Never been disappointed with any.

I’ve done a whole blog post about new re-launched Chanel No5 L’eau fragrance HERE. I won’t repeat myself, but I just have to mention that I’m still in love with it and I use it every day. Strongly encourage everyone that was never No5 fans (like me) to go and try it, as it’s got quite a different vibe than the original Chanel No5 and it’s much more up-to-date.

I don’t have to mention that Chanel lipsticks are really great quality. In fact I’ve read somewhere that lipstick as we know it now, in a stick rather than in a jar, is Chanel invention too. So there you go! This beautiful warm nude colour is from this year’s collection. It’s a satin finish lipstick, that’s very pigmented and not drying. The colour I picked is from Rouge Allure range and it’s 174 Rouge Angelique, warm nude, that’s fantastic for an everyday makeup. Majority of my lipsticks have a pink undertone, so I was looking for something warmer this time of the year.

Lovely girl in Chanel counter matched a lip liner for me as well, and she picked number 5 Nude. It is slightly darker than lipstick, so I prefer to use it evenly all over my lips rather than just to line the edges. On a daily basis I usually put that lipstick on its own, as it’s quicker and turns out a bit lighter than with that particular liner, but I also love using lip liner on its own.

Chanel lip liners are really good quality. This particular one has a bit of sheen so it looks great on its own as well as under a lipstick. I wouldn’t say it’s the softest liner ever, but it goes on the lips really nicely. Chanel liners come with a lip brush at the other end, which is really handy if you want to apply lipstick  very precisely with a brush. It also comes with a separate pencil sharpener, which again is very thoughtful.

My last Chanel purchase was this beautiful eyeliner in 928 Eros colour. I was looking for something exactly like this, red and very wearable on my eyes. I don’t think it’s this season addition, but it’s such a big trend in makeup at the moment. This liner is very soft and it applies very soothly. It’s perfect for smudging and it’s a staple when used together with similar tones shadows. I’ve used it on it’s own and smudged it over my lids and it looked great too.

How do you like Chanel makeup?
