Kiehl’s eye treatment with Avocado – review

Should we use a separate cream for our eyes area is a bit controversial thing. There are opinions, that regular face cream is as good and as suitable to do a good job, that there is no need to pay extra money for an eye cream. Regardless these claims, majority of women are prepared to spend that extra money and buy a cream that has been specifically created for that area. I’m one of them. After all the skin in there is very thin and wrinkles usually show first in that area, so my belief is that if I can slow down that process, than why not?

During winter my skin usually goes quite dry. I was looking for an eye cream that is mostly very moisturising and nourishing. Kiehl’s Eye Treatment cream is a lovely, thick and rich eye treatment. Avocado oil is a source of Vitamins A, D and E, Beta carotene is rich in Vitamin A, that has anti-ageing properties and Shea Butter is a fantastic moisturising and soothing ingredient.

The cream has a lovely, thick texture. It’s thicker than what I usually used before, but it’s a great option at night. They say you shouldn’t put too thick layer of an eye cream, as it can cause puffiness, but I didn’t notice that with this one.

The best way to use it is to gently pat it on. I use it in the morning as well, but quite a thin layer and I leave a few minutes before putting my makeup on. I was really happy, when a friend of mine asked me what eye cream I use, as she liked how radiant my eyes looked. No more recommendation needed

The cream has a beautiful, light green colour and literally no smell. It’s been dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested so it’s suitable for sensitive eyes I believe. I can recommend its soothing properties, as it’s cleared a tiny eczema I had on my upper eye lid.

It’s a medium priced product that is £20 for a 14ml jar, but a big 28ml is only £33.50. I truly recommend it.

Anna such a beautiful and informative review! I’ve been using this eye cream faithfully for many many years now and even reviewed it on my blog as well as part of my Daytime Skincare routine. Although not advertised as anti-aging it does an amazing job hydrating the undereyes which in turn keeps fine lines at bay. I agree that it’s controversial whether or not to invest in a separate eye cream, but I like this one so much that I will continue buying. Great post!

It definitely is a cream that I will be repurchasing when I run out. My favourite for night time. You’re right that great hydrating properties make a big difference how our skin looks like.
